If you’re keen to embrace the winter vibes, head straight to Fox and Hounds Country Inn at Tamborine Mountain. You’ve no doubt noticed the D’Arcy Arms – it’s hard not to, what with its stone façade and Irish flag standing in stark contrast to the towering skyscrapers of Surfers Paradise. But have you ever been inside? In addition to authentic Irish beers and speciality dishes, you’ll also find a cosy fire in the open fireplace. It’s what winter dreams are made of.
St Bernards Hotel
This Tamborine Mountain favourite has stood tall for over a century, beloved by day trippers, locals and travellers from faraway places alike. The breathtaking views are paralleled only by their delicious menu of winter warmers (which are best enjoyed by the toasty fire). True to the hotel’s name, this venue is even home to two beautiful St Bernards, Cooper and Syrah.
