Some trips are solo business visits or couple’s retreats – simple to organise, and with plenty of accommodation and attraction options catering to them.
Then, there are other kinds of trips: those holidays when you bring all the children, holidays when the aunts and uncles – and the cousins – come too, and even those holidays when there’s a blend of extended family and friends.
It’s easy to build up a large party of people. And why not? The kids can play with each other while the adults catch up and relax. Some people will say their fondest childhood memories were made when they had a large holiday with their extended family or some family friends.
However, finances can often prohibit gatherings this large. Big holidays translate to large hotel bookings, which can be a sizeable bill.
This doesn’t have to be the case. Elite Holiday Homes has a large portfolio of incredible properties across the Gold Coast, each capable of accommodating from 10 to 20 people – room enough for a large family holiday or a corporate retreat. All homes feature gourmet kitchens and large entertaining areas, indoor and outdoor, as well as an enviable range of exclusive facilities for play – for example, pools, entertainment rooms and indoor cinemas. Some properties, like Oceans 74, have direct access to the beach, while others, like House in the Sky, offer sweeping views the Gold Coast skyline between Southport and Burleigh Heads.
While Elite Holiday Homes allow you to enjoy opulence and give you exclusive access to the standard of facilities that A-listers enjoy, they can also offer a competitive financial option for large group gatherings if you crunch the numbers.
Let’s say you want to run a springtime corporate retreat in Broadbeach, close to the beach, some of the Gold Coast’s best eateries and the refurbished Star Casino. With five bedrooms, Ile au Soleil would be the perfect venue for a tight-knit Executive retreat.
Checking the availability page at the Elite Holiday Home website shows that a booking for Ile au Soleil between September 1 and 5 costs $2,280. That equates to a $570 a night, which is about $114 per bedroom per night.
Using website Trivago – which compares a wide range of accommodation providers’ sites, as well as other comparison sites – the cheapest one-bedroom or studio rooms of a comparable standard to an Elite Holiday Home in Broadbeach are $143 per night. Two-bedroom apartments fetch about $295 a night, or $148 per bedroom per night, while three-bedroom apartments are about $355 a night, or $118 per bedroom per night.
The six-bedroom Oceans 74 is situated right on the beach at Miami, with easy access to the sand. A four-night stay over the same period amounts to $4,250 – that is $1,063 a night, or $177 per bedroom per night.
Miami has a lack of hotel accommodation suitable for a direct comparison with Oceans 74. However, booking.com’s map function allows a comparison of the entire coastline, from Main Beach to Miami. Of the hotel accommodation right opposite the beach, the most inexpensive for the same booking dates is about $4,200 – just $50 less than Oceans 74. The booking is for six 35 square metre apartments.
Even though the best price for the booking, according to booking.com, comes in just under Oceans 74, the Elite Holiday Home is once again very competitive in terms of price, particularly when you take its enviable range of features and spacious floor plan into account.
A note on comparisons
The above comparisons are not designed to be exhaustive. The number of accommodation booking and comparison sites has made it easier to add new inventory online, so these comparisons may not be same this time next year or even in a few weeks’ time. This comparison was performed in June 2018.
The Elite Holiday Home experience
The advantage of booking an Elite Holiday Home for a huge family getaway or a small corporate retreat goes beyond price. The properties offer outstanding facilities that are available exclusively for you and your family and friends to enjoy whenever you please. You do not have to share them with any other guests.
Elite Holiday Homes also prevent two unfortunate travel traditions by offering plenty of space and privacy. Often, particularly in a holiday with multiple apartment bookings, one room becomes the communal one where everyone meets and congregates. Elite Holiday Homes have dedicated large entertainment spaces, meaning that you can retire when you want to your own bedroom – without having to wait for everyone else to leave. In addition, every guest in the home has their own spacious bedroom to use, meaning nobody is stuck with a fold out couch or rollout bed!
