The Gold Coast is home to almost 65,000 businesses – a number that has grown markedly during the past five years. In days gone by, the perception would have been that the city’s business sector was heavily dependent on small tourism operators; now, the construction and rental, hiring and real estate sectors are the powerhouses. And the rise in the number of bigger businesses on the coast has been a large driver of this growth.
Business visits to the city are also on the rise. According to Tourism and Events Queensland figures, business travellers to the Gold Coast booked a total of 476,000 accommodation nights in 2017. Holidaymakers are responsible for many more; however, the big news here is the figure represents a 17 per cent increase on 2016 and, over three years, a healthy 6.2 per cent trend upward. Numbers of international visitors increased marginally during the year and overall had a growth trajectory over three years.
For businesspeople who are constantly on the road, travel isn’t the fun it is for holidaymakers. The phrase “living out of your suitcase” can often be the perfect summary of the situation: travellers will draw on the small pile of belongings they can fit into a suitcase for days on end, crammed into a studio hotel room, eating from the local restaurants or takeout – and missing the space and creature comforts of home.
The Gold Coast has a vast array of options available for the discerning business traveller, but none cater for their needs as well as Elite Holiday Homes. The perfect rental homes for executives, Elite Holiday Homes are spacious, feel just like home and are laden with amenities to make business travel more of a holiday.
Accessibility
To begin with, Elite Holiday Homes are positioned in the Gold Coast’s key hubs: Surfers Paradise, Burleigh, Main Beach and Broadbeach. Many of them are within walking distance of the Gold Coast’s premier conferencing facility, the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. With most options close to the city’s light rail line, the business hubs in Southport and Bundall are also easily accessible. Of course, guests can enlist our My Concierge service to organise a hire car for travel further afield.
In-home facilities
Elite Holiday homes are expansive homes ranging in size from five to ten bedrooms. Ideal for a small group of travelling executives, each member of the team will have plenty of personal space and generous sleeping quarters. All homes have indoor and outdoor living areas and a range of features, which can include pools, indoor cinemas, entertainment rooms, pool tables and much more.
Crucially, each home comes with free Foxtel and a Wi-Fi package, meaning executives visiting for business can work from their Elite Holiday Home or keep up-to-date with the latest markets on cable news channels. The entertainment areas and Wi-Fi make the home the perfect venue for holding meetings or breakout sessions with local colleagues.
My Concierge
Elite Holiday Home guests have access to a wide range of services through My Concierge, from transfers and tours to housekeeping. My Concierge can organise transfers between the airport and any Elite Holiday Home, or a hire car to take guests from their accommodation to business appointments. The service can also arrange an outing to a theme park or one of the Gold Coast’s other iconic attractions, and enable guests to hire equipment for water sports or bike riding. Alternately, for guests who want their own conference in their Elite Holiday Home or at another venue in the city, My Concierge can offer a dedicated conference coordinator to help.
One of My Concierge’s most popular services is in-house dining and catering. A team of experienced culinary staff can prepare an executive team a two-course feast from a mouth-watering set menu or bring any culinary fantasies to life – or just whip up a simple barbecue for one or two of the team who don’t feel like cooking after a busy day.
Value
Elite Holiday Homes represent incredible value, particularly if a team of Executives make use of one as a rental. Consider the beachside Sirene, which has five bedrooms and can be booked in October for $620 a night. That equates to $124 per bedroom per night, cheaper than most of the comparable accommodation in the area. The five-bedroom Point Break further south in Burleigh is available for $433 a night during the same period, which works out to about $87 per bedroom per night – a very competitive price.
An Elite Holiday Home can certainly make economic sense. When you factor in the space and the exclusive access to the incredible facilities on offer, the homes become irresistible value. Staying at an Elite Holiday Home doesn’t feel like living out of a suitcase – it feels like real living.
